Within these pages we hope to include images and information on
animal behaviour throughout
the seasons.
Pauline has a smallholding and her own
personal nature reserve and is on constant watch for wildlife.
Welcome to Thistledown Meadows.
Misty mornings, evenings drawing in. Sure signs that Autumn is well and truly with us.
Soon the trees will be dressed in glorious red, gold and yellow and we will be treading on a wonderfully
crunchy carpet. Bonfire season beckons, but hopefully not for the family of hedgehogs we found nestling
under some old hay. As it gets colder our swallow fledglings race the clouds, gaining strength to fly to warmer
climes. The hedgerows present a feast for the birds that spend the winter with us. And while on the subject
of feasting. our two swans, 7 UP and Sprite, have returned with their six healthy cygnets, all with
hearty appetites, to take advantage of our corn supply. More hungry mouths to feed!
